The Cephalopods' Hideout

Swimming among the arms of the crinoid sea lilies and beneath the log is a community of cephalopods that include the spiral-shelled ammonoids (LobolytocerasPhylloceras, Harpoceras, Dactylioceras, and Hildaites) and the ancestors of today's squid (Loligosepia, Passaloteuthis, Phragmoteuthis, and Salpingoteuthis).
